Pros
Hair looks hardcore awesome b/c there is no humidity
Beantown is pretty and the weather is perfecto
Hotel bed is super comfortable
They have Fiji water at the meetings
Water pressure in the shower is better than at home
H&M is 1.3 miles from hotel
Lots of people on the streets (excellent for people watching)
Almost everyone here has an awesome accent
Just read an In Style mag my mom gave me and it has great winter outfit ideas
The Today Show and I are in the same time zone
I was able to bust out the pink Kate Spade messenger bag for the first time in years
There is a movie being filmed 2 blocks away from the hotel
Cons
Yankee girls are weird (We went to lunch at Legal Seafood and each girl proceeded to ask 1000 questions about where the restaurant's fish came from and then not one of them ordered it. Apparently it is not OK to eat fish from Puerto Rico. One chick went on and on about the importance of eating meat from grass-fed cows and eating only organic veggies b/c of her concerns about chemicals in processed food causing cancer....then she lit up a cig.)
Hotel elevators are scary
No one has said "wicked" yet
No room service at the hotel
My face wash leaked all over my bag of toiletries which contaminated my contact case which contaminated my contacts and now I have to wear my glasses
I paid $3 for a bottle of Aquafina at the hotel "market" before I knew about the free Fiji water
I am in class all day and don't have time to wander around the city.
I wish I had gotten the black Kate Spade messenger bag instead of the pink.
I have yet to see anyone famous and (thanks to Popsugar.com) I KNOW that Katie and Suri were here last week and that Ben Affleck and Don Draper are here NOW.

Hello Friends
So we're not going to BR this weekend. We have made a grown-up decision to watch the game at home. I think/know BR is going to be a mad house this weekend, and since we have no tickets and no place to stay, it is best that we don't go. But that's okay, I'm sure we'll make it in for some other games.
We have now been in C-ton for over 5 months, can ya' believe it? Time has flown by. I feel like I just left Houston yesterday. I guess the whole working full-time thing makes time move a bit more quickly. I leave a week from Tuesday to go to Boston for 5 days for work-related training. I'm staying downtown, but my days will be booked with training sessions. I don't think I'm going to have time to do a whole lot of sightseeing and I'm not quite sure how safe it is to walk around downtown Boston by myself at night. I guess I'll just feel it out once I get there. I sort of hope everyone is Boston says "wicked" as much as I think they do. I'm sure they appreciate that stereotype as much as we appreciate "laissez les bon temps rouler."
Neal's rig may be moved to Pennsylvania??? Sounds weird, right? But here's the deal, if they do move his rig to PA, he will work 14 and 14 and they will fly him there and back every 2 weeks. It actually beats him having to drive to and from west Texas every 2 weeks. The boss said that whichever one of these two companies (either the one in PA or the one in TX) makes a move first will get the rig. Now, back to the waiting game.....
I'm still debating the hair situation. (Sarah, if I decide to do it I will get the name of your girl from you.)Ladies, if ya'll would have seen the color of red my hairdressar turned my hair during the December '08 coloring incident, you would understand. It was Ashlee Simpson red, ya'll. Awful. And then the very dark brown she had to dye it in order to get rid of the red.....ugh. I didn't want to go out in public for a while. I was surprised everytime I looked in the mirror. It wasn't until it turned a lighter shade of brown that I started to like it.
Oooooooohhhhhhh, a girl I work with just brought me a petit four. There is not much in this world that makes me happier than a surprise petit four. Deeeelish.
Anyway, I'm gonna' ride this little sugar jolt to a productive afternoon. One more day until my 3 day weekend!

Since we now have access to blogger at work....
Oh, no. I'm getting that "I want to change my hair" feeling again, someone puh-lease make it go away. I don't want to cut it, I just want to color it. The last time I did it was such a mess, you would think that experience would have scared me off. But no, of course it didn't. I actually have not highlighted my hair since Feb, so the top 8 inches are all natural. I kind of miss my dark brown hair, that's all.
We do not have tickets or a place to stay for the game this weekend, yet we still want to go tailgate. We have been throwing around the idea of going to BR to tailgate and then driving back to C-ton at 4ish so we can watch the game at home. I'm not sure though. The smart thing to do would be to just stay home Sat and not go to BR at all, but our love for tailgating is completely irrational, so we may still go. Decisions, decisions.
The hubbs turned 30 last Friday so we went to the Barley Oak in Mandeville and then the Brew Pub for drinks. The Barley Oak is a draughthouse on Lakeshore Drive and has a balcony and a fabulous view of Lake Ponch and the sunset. It has a Gingerman-y feel to it, I highly reccomend it.
Both bosses are out of town this entire week and I have next Monday off for Columbus Day, so yaaaaay!
